Rohman (68), one of the residents, said he doesn't have to bother going to the river to defecate.

"Since this public toilet has been constructed, we can live healthier and more comfortably. Residents no longer dispose of their feces in the river like they used to," he admitted, Tuesday (1/20).

He hopes residents will work together to maintain the public toilets, including the monthly cleaning, water, and electricity costs.

Sriyati (49), another resident, proposed that the empty land area next to the communal toilets be arranged and made into a garden.

"The land is still muddy when it rains. There are no plants along the fence, so it looks barren," she said.

She is also committed to caring for and maintaining this communal toilet and restroom, as a form of gratitude.
